In 2014, after a short time working as a Corrosion Engineer, Kevin Nelson decided to pursue his own business opportunity with a first-of-its-kind hypoallergenic dressing that he had developed on his own. Nelson Innovations, or NelDerm, was born. The NelDerm Hydrogel dressing performed well in the marketplace and achieved well-deserved recognition.
In 2020 at the height of the Pandemic, Kevin re-directed his manufacturer to produce face shields in response to the high demand for PPE. They sold over 2 million face shields to facilities in need across the country.
Later that year, NelDerm conducted a large-scale customer survey that revealed significant pain points amongst customers using the standard of care pressure offloading devices. Consequently, Kevin along with Wound Care Physician Dr. David Perse co-invented an innovative solution called the HeelP.O.D., which is the first commercialization of their P.O.D. technology for treatment and prevention of pressure injuries.
Kevin began his career in corrosion engineering and after a few years, decided to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams with the development of a hypoallergenic wound dressing. His success led him to founding NelDerm, where he continues to spearhead innovation in the wound care space with a disruptive technology designed to manage and prevent pressure injuries.
Jill brings 20 years of Product Marketing experience in the Orthopedic and Wound Care Medical Device industry. She spent her career at DJO Global & Breg as Product Leader for Bracing, Vascular and Wound Care lines. At NelDerm, Jill is leading all marketing communications, new product development and supporting sales/channel execution strategies.
Laurie has over 20 years of healthcare industry and start-up experience with expertise in administration, client support, marketing, data analysis, IT support & event planning. Laurie is driving lead generation, inside sales, CRM management, social media and trade show logistics for NelDerm.
Andy has medical device experience in Trauma and Extremities. Before NelDerm, he was a sales representative for Smith+Nephew, gaining valuable hospital-selling insights. With NelDerm, he is focused initially in the North East Ohio region but will scale his success on a national level as well.
